Jammu: BJP leader LK Advani on Wednesday slammed Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for seeking the removal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from parts of the state.
Addressing a rally here as part of his Jan Chetna Yatra, Advani said the removal of AFSPA will handicap the Army, which otherwise has done a commendable job in tackling terrorism in the state.
He stated that the Army’s nod was necessary before any decision on part or full revocation of AFSPA could be taken.
Advani also hit out at Central government’s policies with regard to Pakistan, saying it sometimes favoured talks and at other times sayid talks cannot be held until visible action against terrorism.
