Leh, January 13: The Advisor to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, UT of Ladakh, Dr. Pawan Kotwal chaired a meeting to review the progress of the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) Project in the Union Territory of Ladakh at VC Hall Secretariat, Leh.

A detailed discussion was held during the meeting on the current status of services since the last review meeting. The meeting reviewed the progress of the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) in Ladakh, which aims to enhance the accessibility, transparency, and accuracy of land records in the region.

The project, a critical component of Ladakh’s revenue management and public service infrastructure, includes comprehensive digital upgrades across multiple facets of land records management. The meeting discussed in detail the physical and financial progress of the DILRMP project including the ongoing digitization of revenue records, installation of compactors in Tehsil Modern Record Rooms, and the initiation of online citizen-centric services by the Revenue Department.

The Assistant Commissioner of Revenue (ACR), Leh presented a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation, detailing the milestones achieved under the DILRMP project. He informed that the GIS web portal for records will be launched on 10th February 2025.

The presentation highlighted several completed objectives while identifying areas that require additional resources and attention. Topics under discussion included the progress in digitizing village land records, ongoing surveys, demarcations, and the need for an effective Management Information System (MIS) to streamline and safeguard land records.

Advisor Dr. Kotwal commended the team for their diligent efforts while underscoring the project’s importance in ensuring accurate, accessible, and updated land records. He emphasized that reliable land records are crucial for enhancing transparency, reducing land disputes, and facilitating infrastructure and development projects in Ladakh. He called for the timely and efficient implementation of the remaining tasks to ensure the project’s success.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Leh Santosh Sukhadeve; Deputy Commissioner, Kargil Shrikant Suse; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shabir Hussain; SDMs, and other concerned officers of revenue department.
