Administrative Secretary, Shashanka Ala Reviews Social, Tribal Welfare Schemes in Kargil

Kargil, June 05: Administrative Secretary, Social and Tribal Welfare UT Ladakh, Shashanka Ala chaired a review meeting of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and ongoing works of the Department in Kargil district today at Council Secretariat, Kurbathang.

During the meeting, threadbare deliberation and discussions were held regarding the status of all Central Sponsored Schemes. She also reviewed the various construction works sanctioned under SDP.

The Administrative Secretary took a detailed review of Drugs De Addiction centre Kargil (DDAC), Mission Poshan, Mission Shakti and Mission Vatsalya.

Regarding the functioning of DDAC, Administrative Secretary emphasised on the robust collaboration and coordination between DDAC and Ladakh Police for its effective implementation in curbing and addressing the menace caused by drugs and substance abuse in the society.

The Administrative Secretary also reviewed the expenditure status of all the schemes of different Missions and directed to ensure a well-thought-out strategy for proper implementation of all the schemes and further added that monthly progress review should be held abiding to the guidelines and commitment under the Missions.

The Administrative Secretary also reiterated that the performance of the Consultants appointed under various Missions should be reviewed on quarterly basis. The extension of their contract shall be subjected to their performances in the said review meeting.

The Secretary also took detailed review of social security schemes of National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) and Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS) under which pensions are disbursed to old age persons, Women in Distress and Physically Challenged persons.

During the meeting Scholarship schemes such as Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship schemes were also discussed, besides the Secretary also reviewed Lieutenant Governor’s REWA scheme and Ladakh Marriage Assistance Scheme.

Administrative Secretary, added that all the outreach workers of the department, including ICDS field functionaries and Social Workers should proactively work towards awareness dissemination regarding the schemes of the department along with saturation of schemes.

Director, Social and Tribal Welfare Department Tashi Dolma; District Programme Officer ICDS, Kargil, Nargis Banoo; District Social Welfare Officer, Kargil, Samina Khatoon; Accounts Officer S&TW, Mohammad Hussain, all CDPO’s besides concerned officers of the department also attended the meeting.
