Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that chairman of his faction of Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Shah Geelani will not be allowed to address a rally in Shopian district of south Kashmir tomorrow. “Following the orders of District Magistrate Srinagar, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, will not be allowed to move towards Shopian tomorrow,†a police spokesman here said. “It has been observed on a number of previous occasions that whenever Syed Ali Shah Geelani visited a Public Place, the incidents of stone pelting and disruption in peace were reported.â€The spokesman said that on April 22 last, when he visited Baramulla and on May 06 last, when he visited Batamaloo, stone pelting incidents were reported which disrupted the Peace in these areas, besides injuring a number of persons and damage to property in these areas.
