Adequate mechanism better at present than what was during the rule of PDP: Sagar

SRINAGAR:-While appreciating the interest being taken by the separatist leader Moulvi Umar Farooq day to day administrative functioning particularly with regard to supply of water, electricity and other essential items, Minister for Rural Development, Panchayats, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, J&K, Ali Mohammad Sagar said that at present, the government is supplying 950 MW power in the valley which is far ahead of the supply made in corresponding previous year. Referring to the comment of Moulvi Umar Farooq that the entire administration has gone to Jammu and nobody is in the valley, Mr. Sagar corrected him by informing that at present 4 cabinet Ministers remained constantly visiting the valley. He said the even the winter secretariat remains functional where one Minister remains continuously for one week as per the schedule already announced. He said that even chief Secretary recently visited the valley and conducted thorough review of all the departments.

Mr Sagar said that all essential items are available in abundance maintaining that theses is adequate supply of petrol, gas, other essential items and no scarcity whatsoever. He said that even Deputy Commissioners of all the districts have been advised to monitor on daily basis. The position of essentials including food stocks
Mr Sagar said that as far the as the scheduled and timing of the electricity supply is concerned, the department has being strictly advised to adher to the already announced supply scheduled to all the areas. He said that with regard to the pilferage of power which has been controlled to a large extent.
The Minister also lashed out the PDP’s drama of making hue and cry on non supply of electricity and other essential commodity. He said the party has lost its credibility among the people and all their hue and cry made on various issues have resulted into a fiasco and stands exposed before people as a power hungry party. “During their own rule the valley was constantly under darkness during winters and people of Jammu also suffered power scarcity during the summers, while the present government has been able to streamline the power upply and also ensure its constant supply in the state.”
