Chandigarh, June 6 Launching a fierce attack on BJP for its leaders’ controversial remarks against the prophet Mohammed, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday said BJP’s ‘hateful’ and ‘divisive’ politics has once again landed India in an embarrassing position.
Addressing a press conference here, AAP’s chief spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang demanded the immediate arrest of former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma and Delhi media head Naveen Kumar Jindal, whose controversial remarks on Prophet Muhammad, had triggered outrage in Gulf nations.
He said that Indian ambassadors are being summoned by the governments of Gulf Countries and the Indian government has been asked to issue an unconditional apology for BJP leaders’ remarks, which is very crestfallen for a democratic country.
Kang said, “India is following the great Constitution given by Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, which advocates to follow different religions and cultures in the country and people have complete freedom to perform religious practice freely. This is the beauty of our country and the foundation of communal harmony.”
He alleged that ever since the BJP came to power at the Centre, they are doing dirty politics on religion to create hatred and break communal harmony in the country.
He said that the dirty politics of the BJP has not only impacted various communities within the country but its impact is now beginning to be seen outside the country as well. Due to this, India’s head is bowing down with shame all over the world.
Kang stated that the remarks of BJP’s Nupur Sharma and Navin Jindal against Prophet Mohammad and his wife have deeply hurt the sentiments of those practising Islam across the world. It is for this reason that Muslim countries like Oman, Qatar, Iran and Kuwait etc. have strongly criticised India and issued summons to Indian ambassadors. Now, millions of Indians are also facing the threat of losing their employment in Gulf countries.
The AAP leader alleged the minorities are in dire straits under the BJP-led government at the Centre and BJP leaders were solely responsible for the growing hatred towards Hindus across the world.
