864 pilgrims leave for Amarnath, Buddha Amarnath shrines

Jammu; A total of 864 pilgrims today left for holy cave Shrines of Shri Amarnath and Buddha Amarnath situated in South Kashmir Himalayas and in Poonch district of Jammu region under tight security arrangements.

The pilgrims left for Amarnath cave shrine from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatrai Niwas base camp here.

“A batch of 483 pilgrims comprising 303 males, 91 females, four children and 85 saints left for the Amarnath Shrine in a convoy of 21 vehicles including 13 State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) buses, and three light motor vehicles,” official spokesman said.

As many as 381 pilgrims, including 297 male, 80 female and four children also left for Buddha Amarnath shrine in a convoy of 10 vehicles amid tight security arrangements.
