76th Republic Day celebrated with patriotic fervor in Sub-Division Zanskar

Kargil, January 26: The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and patriotic fervor in Sub-Division Zanskar. The Incharge Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Mohd Hassan served as the chief guest and unfurled the national flag at the ceremonial venue followed by National Anthem, which filled the atmosphere with a deep sense of pride and patriotism.

The event was graced by notable attendees, including SHO Stanzen Gyalson, Executive Engineer PHE, heads of various departments, and prominent figures from religious, political, and social spheres. Among the distinguished attendees was Padma Shri Awardee Mama Chutim.

In his address to the gathering, Mohd Hassan paid homage to the sacrifices of the freedom fighters who laid the foundation for a free India.

He hailed the vision and leadership of the architects of the Indian Constitution, emphasizing their role in shaping the democratic principles of the nation.

He urged the people of Zanskar to uphold the values of unity, harmony, and mutual respect among all communities, regardless of sect or background.

He highlighted the recent developmental milestones in Zanskar, particularly the announcement of Zanskar as a new district and the successful completion of the NPD Road, NH 301, which will boost regional connectivity and economic opportunities.

The Incharge SDM congratuled the people of sub division Zanskar for these developmental milestones especially the announcement of Sub Division Zanskar as a new District and called on the people to come together with a collective spirit to uplift Zanskar across all sectors of development, from education and infrastructure to health and cultural preservation.

The event witnessed an impressive march past by contingents of Police, NCC cadets, and various schools, showcasing discipline and patriotism. Following the parade, an award ceremony was held to recognize exemplary contributions across various sectors.

Among the awardees, the Revenue field staff, KREDA Zanskar, and many other departments were presented with momentos and certificates of appreciation for their exceptional service in their respective fields. 

Mohd Issa, JE PWD, was also honored with a certificate of appreciation for his dedicated and hardworking service to the public services sector. 

Sub Inspector, Nawang Stanzin was recognized for his bravery and courage during a challenging rescue operation at Shingkula Top.

The celebrations were further enriched by vibrant cultural performances presented by school students and local cultural troupes. These performances showcased the rich traditions, heritage, and vibrant cultural identity of Zanskar, leaving the audience captivated.

The event concluded on a high note with the distribution of sweets among the attendees, symbolizing the spirit of unity and joy.
