Srinagar, Jun 8 : Alert troops foiled three infiltration bids from Pakistan-administered-Kashmir (PaK) in north Kashmir during the past 24 hours, killing seven militants near the Line of Control (LoC), official sources said here today.
A soldier was also martyred and two others were injured in the exchange of fire with the infiltrators, they said, adding that operations at all three places were going on, when the reports last came in.
However, the Defence ministry Spokesman was not available.
Sources said troops guarding the LoC noticed a group of militants sneaking into this side from PoK in Naugam sector early this morning, under the cover of darkness.
When challenged and asked to surrender, the militants opened fire, which was returned and in the ensuing gun battle, two infiltrators were killed, they further said.
