6 killed, 36 injured in Rajouri accident

Srinagar: At least six people, including three women on Wednesday were killed and forty others injured in a road accident in Rajouri district of Jammu region.
Press Bureau of India correspondent from Jammu said that a passenger bus (JKO6-0459) was on its way to Kalakote from Tatta Pani when it skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge near Khad Killa. Three people, including two women died on the spot while 39 were injured in the accident. All the injured were rushed to different hospitals in Rajouri and Jammu. However, three more people, including a woman died at the hospitals. The condition of seventeen injured is said to be serious.
The slain have been identified as Sonia, 18, daughter of Rajinder Kumar of Kalakote, Anuradha, 30, daughter of Rajinder Singh, Showkat Ali, 16, son of Wazir Hussain, Anil Kumar, son of Tehal Singh, Pooja Devi,20, daughter of Narinder Singh and  Mohammad Asif, 50,son of Mohammad Iqbal, all residents of Tatta Pani.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Rajouri, G L Sharma told a six people died in the road accident that apparently occurred due to the rash driving. He said police has registered a case and started investigations in this regard.
