Srinagar: Forty-three persons including 19 fresh visitors from Pakistan administered Kashmir crossed over to Line of Control through Karvan-e-Aman bus service, plying on weekly basis across the divided parts of Kashmir.
Official said that 17 visitors from Pak arrived here to meet their relatives first time after separation during the Indo-Pak partition in 1947.
The guests travelled from Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pak, to Chakoti, near the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri town of north Kashmir. As a part of procedure, the travelers alighted from the bus and crossed the Aman Setu (Peace Bridge) on foot.
The cross-LoC bus was flagged off by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in April 2005. There was no resident of this part of the Kashmir on part of the bus. Sixteen returnees from Kashmir also return home, sources said.
Six fresh visitors from this side part of the Kashmir also travelled to Pak while two Pak residents returned home after completing their 28-days of allotted stay here.
