4 persons killed in mishaps

Srinagar: Four persons were killed and eleven others were injured in separate road accidents across the Kashmir Valley, official sources told Monday.They said that a driver of tempo traveller (JK02AA-5364) lost control over steering and rammed into a tree near Nepora, Kulgam in south Kashmir, resulting in the on spot death of the driver Chanchall Singh son of Makhan Singh of Jammu.  In second accident, a Trailer Truck (PB02AR-9933) collided with a Maruti Van (JK14A-1742) near Toll Post Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu highway, resulting in death of Maruti Van driver, Ravi Kumar son of Basant Kumar of Gadi Udhampur and injuries to Arun Kumar and L.S Savari of Balas MP.  In another accident, a lead carrier—Tata 207 (JK13-7683) hit and injured a pedestrian Autar Singh (47) son of Saduh Singh of Sadpora Lasipora near his native place in the southern Pulwama district. “Injured succumbed to his injuries while on way to hospital,” a police spokesman said. Meanwhile, an elderly man who was injured on Saturday last at Lethpora, Awantipora succumbed to his injures at Bones and Joints Hospital here. Police said that the body of the deceased, Mohammad Khalil Sofi son of Abdul Aziz of Lethpora was handed over to his relatives for last rites.In yet another accident, a Tata Mobile (JK02P-2615) turned turtle at Manzmoh in the southern Kashmir’s Anantnag district, resulting in injuries to nine persons, who were traveling in the vehicle. Injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment, officials added.
