Srinagar: Three unidentified militants were killed in two separate encounters with Police and security forces in Sopore.
Sopore police, 27 RR and 9 Para launched a search operation in the forest area of Cherhare, Bomia in the jurisdiction of police station Bomai, Sopore. Today afternoon the first contact with the militants occurred, militants hiding in the forest fired upon the joint search team triggering an encounter. One unidentified militant was killed in the encounter, which is still going on. An Army Jawan also received injuries in the encounter.
Meanwhile, in another encounter in an orchid at Mundaji, Batengo in the jurisdiction of police station Bomai, Sopore, two unidentified militants were killed. Sopore police and 22 RR had on a tip off launched an operation in Mundaji village, today. An encounter ensued in an orchid, in which two unidentified militants were killed.
