3 Journalists detained in Kothi Bagh Police Station JKYJA Condemned

Srinagar, Jul 31: In a press statement, Jammu and Kashmir Young Journalist Association has condemned the harassment and fifteen minute detention of its President Ajaz Ahmad War at Kothi Bagh Police Station, who was accompanied by two more other journalists Bilal Bashir Bhat, Syed Tajamul while they were rendering their professional duties during a protest rally of Hurriyat (M) at Press Colony.
The JKYJA spokesman condemning the act of the Police said, applying such negative tactics against journalists while were rendering their professional duties is an unhealthy development and does not augur well for freedom of press in our part of the world.
The spokesman urged Director General of Police Mr. K Rajandra Kumar to intervene in the matter for the safety of the fourth pillar of Democracy.
