New Delhi: Janata Party Chief Subramanian Swamy today pleaded before a Delhi court that Union Home Minister P Chidambaram be made a co-accused in the 2G Spectrum scam.
Dr Swamy submitted before CBI Special Judge O P Saini that former Telecom Minister A Raja alone could not be guilty of fixing the rate of spectrum charges at nominal prices but he committed this in connivance with P Chidambaram.
He submitted that as per 2003 cabinet’s decisions Raja and Chidambaram, then Finance Minister, were in power to determine the spectrum price.
Dr Swamy said on February 24 Prime Minister Manmohan Singh made a statement that the pricing spectrum was taken on the basis of cabinet’s decision of 2003.
The Judge has granted Swamy permission to become a witness against Chidambaram after Swamy claimed that he would provide prime facia evidence against the then Finance Minister.
After hearing Swamy’s complaint, the Judge referred the matter for further hearing for January 7 and for production of certified copy of documents in support of his complaint.
