Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended 24 employees of different departments for refusing duty during panchayat polls in the central Kashmir district of Ganderbal.
An official spokesman said here today that the District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Ganderbal today suspended 24 employees of various departments for unauthorisedly abstaining from election duty.
He said these employees had violated the election process.
The employees belong to animal husbandry department, rural development department, agricultural department, CAAPD, education department and irrigation division Ganderbal.
On April 13, during first phase of polls, 22 employees, mostly from education department, were suspended on similar grounds in south Kashmir district of Kulgam.
