2135 pilgrims leave for Amarnath, Buddha Amarnath shrines

Jammu: Around 2135 pilgrims today left for the holy cave shrines of Shri Amarnath and Buddha Amarnath, situated in South Kashmir of Himalayas and in Poonch district of Jammu region, under tight security arrangements.

The pilgrims for Amarnath cave shrine left from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatrai Niwas base camp here.

“A batch of 1,350 pilgrims left at around 0515 hrs for the Amarnath in a convoy of 53 vehicles,” an official spokesman here said.

As many as 785 pilgrims left for Buddha Amarnath shrine in a convoy of 19 vehicles amid tight security.
