Srinagar: Terming 2014 as the watershed year for the state’s politics, Peoples Conference Chairman Sajjad Gani Lone today said his party will contest upcoming Assembly Elections on its own.
“There is no question of any alliance with any party. We will test the political waters of the state on our ownâ€, Lone said while talking to.
He termed National Conference and PDP as the two faces of the same coin. “People are fed up of both the parties. They are both tormentors one of which leaves the scene and the other appears. However, we want to be agents of change in the stateâ€, the PC Chairman said.
Sajjad expressed faith in the people of the state to elect the best representatives to govern the state. “We have no plans to speak to the Prime Minister or Govt of India seeking free and fair polls. We have complete faith in the people of the state and will accept their verdictâ€, he added.
“2014 election will be a decisive moment in the state’s political history and we people seek change which could bring respite to themâ€, he said.
