20-day Ice Hockey training under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme concludes in Kargil

Kargil, Feb 08, 2025: District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti, Social and Tribal Welfare Department Kargil organized 20-day Ice Hockey training to more than 50 girls under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme at Khree Sultan Choo Sports Stadium, Kargil from Jan 22 to Feb 08. 

The training concluded today with a closing ceremony held at Khree Sultan Choo Sports Stadium. Joint Director Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh, Tahir Hussain Zubdavi, District Program Officer ICDS Kargil, Nargis Banoo, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kargil, Abid Ali, District Coordinator Mission Shakti Kargil, Niyaz Hussain, Gender Specialist Mission Shakti, Aamina Bano, other staff members from District Hub for Women Empowerment, staff members from DYSS, parents, children and participants.

During the event District Program Officer, Nargis Banoo highlighted the importance of girls’ participation in sports activities and the BBBP scheme’s importance.

Tahir Hussain Zubdavi encouraged the participants for their active participation in sports and its future opportunities for both boys and girls in the field. The event concluded by distributing prize certificates and momentos to the respective coaches and meritorious girls.
