2 militants killed in Shopian encounter: Arms

Srinagar: Two militants identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Chopan resident of  Harmain, Shopian and Khurshid Ahmad Yatoo resident of Reban, Shopian, were killed in an encounter at village lahend Habdipora in district Shopian. The dead bodies of the slain militants were recovered this morning during the search operations. It may be reminded that Police Shopian and 44 R.R of the Army had earlier laid a siege of the area late last night following specific information about the presence of armed militants, and in the ensuing encounter these militants were killed.
