Srinagar, Mar 26 (KMW): A joint operation was launched today by Army and JKP, resulting in busting of a militant hideout in Bandipora district wherein a huge quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered along with other war like stores.
According to an army statement issued to KMW, based on a specific intelligence input regarding location of a militant hideout in Shok Baba forest of Bapura, District Bandipora, a joint operation by Army and JKP was launched today at around 1230h. During the search, a huge quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered which included 03 AK 56 rifles, 35 rounds of UBGL, 02 radio sets, 06 electric detonators, 06 kgs of gunpowder, AK rifle bayonet and other administrative stores.
Yesterday during another joint operation by Army and JKP, a militant hideout was busted in village Chandusa of district Baramullah. During the search, 01 AK 47 rifle, 01 AK MS series rifle, one pistol along with one magazine each and ammunition were recovered. Till the receipt of the last reports, the operation is still continuing. Chinar Corps Commander has complimented the troops of Army and JKP persons involved in the two operations. (KMW)
