Jammu: The 2- day IInd ASCOMSCON 2011 Laparoscopic Workshop and Interactive Lectures, organized by the Department of Surgery started here today at Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences and Hospital Sidhra, Jammu.
Vice Chancellor Central University, Jammu, Dr. S.S. Beloria, the chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the workshop.
The event is supported by the society of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of India ( SELSI), Indian Hernia Society(IHS) and J&K State Chapter of Association of Surgeons of India(JAKASI). The invited faculty which among other experts includes Dr. Putambekar world renowed Laparoscopic and Robotic Cancer Surgeon, Prof M.C. Mishra, Prof and head of the department of Surgery at AIIMS, New Delhi, Prof. S.D. Maurya, the Doyan of Minimal Access Surgeons of India, Prof, G.N. Raju, Head Surgical on chology at NIZAMS, Hydrabad, Dr. Pardeep Garg from AIIMS New Delhi, Prof D.V. Singh from Patiala, Prof K. Alam Wani, Prof Showkat Jeelani, Dr. Fazal Q OParrey and AIjaz A Malik9SKIMS) alongwith local faculty and experts of advanced Laparoscopic cancer Hernia, Gynecology and othewr surgery will conduct alive interactive surgical skills programme in minimal Access Surgery and will operate at workshop/ conference.
Latest Laparoscopic procedures such as Laparoscopic Hernia repair and advanced Laparoscopic cancer Procedures shall be demonstrated and discussed by the faculty and attending surgeons from all over the country.
Earlier, the Chief Guest, Dr. S.S. Beloria lit the traditional lamp to inaugurate the 2-day workshop. Ssarswati Vandhana was presented on the occasion.
Dr. S.S. Beloria also released a Souvenir on the two day workshop.
