Kargil, Jan 25: The 15th National Voters’ Day was celebrated today with enthusiasm in Sub-Division Zanskar under the supervision of Incharge SDM/AERO, Mohd Hassan.

The program started with the National Anthem, followed by AERO administering the Voters’ Pledge, emphasizing the importance of active participation in the democratic process.

The event saw the participation of various Heads of Departments (HoDs), students, and locals. Election Assistant Zanskar extended a warm welcome to HoDs and other participants.

A quiz competition was a major highlight of the event, where students from Government Degree College Zanskar and other schools showcased their talent.

Govt. High Secondary School Phey secured the first position in the quiz competition. The winners and participants were acknowledged with appreciation certificates for their efforts.

In his address, the AERO, delivered an insightful speech highlighting the significance of voting and voters’ rights. He also lauded the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for their dedicated services and presented them with appreciation certificates as a token of recognition.

Additionally, Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) were also distributed to new voters, marking their formal inclusion in the democratic process.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sajjad Hussain, Naib Tehsildar, who expressed gratitude to all attendees for their active participation in making the event successful.
