JAMMU, March 19: The Government on Friday informed that 152 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 31 from Jammu division and 121 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 128249. Also 01 COVID-19 death has been reported from Jammu Division.
Moreover, 72 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 06 from Jammu Division and 66 from Kashmir Division.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 128249 positive cases, 1152 are Active Positive, 125118 have recovered and 1979 have died; 732 in Jammu division and 1247 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 5690460test results available, 5562211 samples have been tested as negative till 19thMarch, 2021.
Till date 1419909 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 30398 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 1152 in isolation and 120358 in home surveillance. Besides, 1266022 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 27879 positive cases (including 69 cases reported today) with 564 Active Positive, 26850 recovered (including 41 cases recovered today), 465 deaths; Baramulla has 8462 positive cases (including 15 cases reported today)with 107Active Positive, 8177 recovered (including 10 cases recovered today), 178 deaths; Budgam reported 8010 positive cases (including 15 cases reported today)with 69 active positive cases, 7821 recovered (including 05cases recovered today), 120 deaths; Pulwama has 5921 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today)with 29 Active Positive, 5800 recovered (including 06 cases recovered today)and 92 deaths; Kupwara has 5732 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today), 23 Active Positive, 5612 recoveries (including 02 cases recovered today), 97 deaths; Anantnag district has 5103 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today)with 21 Active Positive, 4990 recovered (including 02 cases recovered today), 92 deaths; Bandipora has 4733 positive cases (including 01 cases reported today), with12 Active Positive and 4659 recoveries, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4693 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today)with 17 Active Positive, 4629 recoveriesand47deaths; Kulgam has 2758 positive cases (including 01 cases reported today)with 16 Active Positive, 2688 recoveries and 54 deaths while as Shopian has 2635 positive cases (including 04 cases reported today),26 active positive cases, 2569 recoveries and 40 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 25477 positive cases (including 20 cases reported today) with 211 active positive cases, 24887recoveries (including 05 cases recovered today), 379 deaths; Udhampur has 4328 positive cases, 10active positive cases, 4261 recoveriesand57 deaths; Rajouri has 3883 positive cases with 06 active positive, 3822 recoveries and 55 deaths; Doda has 3447 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today)with07 Active positive, 3376 recovered and 64 deaths; Kathua has 3275 positive cases (including 02 cases recovered today), 06 active positive cases, 3216 recovered and 53 deaths; Kishtwar has 2739 positive cases with 01 Active Positive, 2717 recoveries (including 01 cases recovered today)and22 deaths; Samba has 2843 positive cases with 02 active positive cases, 2800 recoveries and 41 deaths; Poonch has 2535 positive caseswith15active positive, 2496recoveriesand 24 deaths; Ramban has 2138 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today)with03 active positive cases, 2114 recoveries and 21 deaths while Reasi has 1658 positive with 08 active positive cases, 1634 recoveries and 16 deaths.
According to the bulletin, among the total 128249 positive cases in J&K, 12797 have been reported as travelers while 115452 as others.
The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
The bulletin added that there are 1091 COVID dedicated beds, 962 Isolation beds with 950 vacant beds and 129 ICU beds where 118 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 1570 COVID dedicated beds, 1484 Isolation beds where 1426 beds are vacant and 86 ICU beds where 82are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 2661 COVID dedicated beds, 2446 Isolation beds with 2376 beds vacant and 215 ICU beds with 200vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.
