Jammu: At least 15 Amarnath pilgrims were killed and 18 injured when a bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in mountainous Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.

”The State Road Transport Corporation bus carrying Amarnath pilgrims was on way from Srinagar to Jammu when it met with the accident late last night near Digdol in Ramban district on the highway and fell into the deep gorge,” a senior police official here told.
At least 15 passengers died and 18 injured in the mishap, he said.
”On receiving the information, police, security forces and locals rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation,” he added.
The injured were taken to the hospital, he said, adding that more details were awaited.
