1,232 pilgrims leave for Amarnath, Buddha Amarnath Shrines

Jammu: A fresh batch of 1,232 pilgrims today left for the holy cave Shrines of Shri Amarnath and Buddha Amarnath situated in South Kashmir of Himalayas and in Poonch district of Jammu region under tight security arrangements.

The pilgrims for Amarnath Cave Shrine left from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatrai Niwas base camp here.

“A batch of 530 pilgrims comprising 401 males, 122 females and seven children left for the Amarnath Shrine in a convoy of 27 vehicles including 19 State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) buses, two private and six light motor vehicles,” official spokesman said.

As many as 702 pilgrims, including 480 male, 210 female and 12 children, also left for Buddha Amarnath shrine in a convoy of 18 vehicles amid tight security arrangements.
