Vienna :Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) representing more than 100 member states of the International Atomic Energy Agency on Thursday declared support for Iranian nuclear program at the Board of Governors meeting.
Egypt’s envoy to IAEA read out NAM’s statement in support of Iran’s nuclear program at IAEA Board of Governors.
The statement has welcomed Iran’s constructive measure and cooperation in holding two rounds of talks with senior officials of the agency led by IAEA Deputy Director General Herman Nackaerts in Tehran to resolve the outstanding issues.
The Board of Governors was scheduled to discuss Iran on Wednesday but it was adjourned to Thursday.
According to diplomats, the Western governments representatives had failed to convince the other members of the board to issue an anti-Iran resolution so they forced the board to put off the session in a bid to create an opportunity for paving the ground for issuing a resolution against Iran.(KMW NEWS)
