1 Militant gunned down in Kupwara

Kupwara , JULY 04:  1 militant was killed by the security forces in an ongoing encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday.
The encounter started at Waderbala forest area of Handwara when the personnel of 21 Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group (SoG) Handwara were patrolling.

The security forces have cordoned off the area.

On Tuesday (June), a fierce encounter in Lolab area of Kupwara district had left one militant dead.

Last week, a top commander of Hizbul Mujahideen militant outfit was killed in an encounter with security forces in Kupwara.

This incident comes just days after eight CRPF men were killed by terrorists, while 22 were injured in an encounter in Pampore on Sunday.  Inputs news agency
