Srinagar, July 25: One person was killed and five others including a CRPF personnel injured in a grenade blast in Achabal area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Police said the injured were shifted to a local hospital where one among them was referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment. The grenade was tossed at a bus stand, added police. One person killed was an ice cream vendor.
The attack is the second in as many days. On Friday, unidentified gunmen threw grenades at two mobile phone shops and a telecom tower in Srinagar. One person was injured in the attacks.
IGP Kashmir SJM Gillian said one person was killed and five others including a CRPF man was injured in the attack.
Asked what the target of militants was, he said, “Preliminary reports reveal that their target was a CRPF patrol party.â€
