Various Delegations Calls upon Chief Secretary Ladakh Ashish Kundra in Kargil

Kargil, February 24: Several delegations from across Kargil district called on the Chief Secretary of the Union Territory of Ladakh, Ashish Kundra, at Hotel The Kargil and apprised him of various public issues and developmental demands.

A delegation led by Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Kacho Mohd Feroz, along with several councillors, raised various issues pertaining to land digitalisation in accordance with SO-75. The delegation emphasized the need for expediting the digitization of land records to ensure transparency, efficiency, and better public service delivery.

Another delegation headed by Councillor Town, Haji Abass Adulpa, highlighted urban concerns including the issue of stray dogs in Kargil town, sanctioning of a 24×7 Urban Primary Health Centre (PHC), and Administrative Approval for the proposed Multi-Level Car Parking facility, among other developmental matters.

Meanwhile, the delegation from Yourbaltak constituency apprised the Chief Secretary of issues related to irrigation and water resources. They demanded sanction for the second phase of the Lift Irrigation Scheme, a comprehensive groundwater survey, and approval for various pending irrigation canal projects. The delegation also invited the Chief Secretary to visit the area to assess the situation on the ground.

The Chief Secretary gave a patient hearing to all the delegations and assured them that the issues raised would be addressed in a phased manner. He stated that necessary steps would be taken in coordination with the concerned departments to resolve the genuine demands at the earliest.
