Kyiv, Feb 20 US President Joe Biden on Monday arrived at war affected Ukraine’s capital.
This is the US president’s first visit to Ukraine amid the east Europen nation’s millitary conflict with Russia.
“One year later, Kyiv stands. And Ukraine stands. Democracy stands,” Biden said in Kyiv.
“Today, in Kyiv, I am meeting with President Zelenskyy and his team for an extended discussion on our support for Ukraine,” the White House said in a statement.
The statement added that the US will announce additional sanctions on Russian elites and companies later this week.
Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy had met the US President Biden on December 21, 2022 during a historic visit to Washington DC, that was Zelenskyy’s first trip abroad since February 2022, when the millitary conflict with Russia started.
