Two years after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the government, Uni4Kashmir remains resolute in its pursuit of fostering quality education.
Alok Kumar, the Principal Secretary – Higher Education and School Education, speaking to JK News Today in a video interview published on 27th of August 2023, declared that the Jammu and Kashmir Private Universities Act is soon to become a reality.
This upcoming legislation harmonizes seamlessly with the vision set forth in the National Educational Policy 2020, creating a robust framework to propel educational growth in J&K. Uni4Kashmir is elated about the positive intent of the authorities to make JKPUA a reality, as it signifies not only a momentous achievement for the sector but also a transforming opportunity for individuals and institutions aspiring to establish private universities and colleges in the region.
During this time, Uni4Kasmir has tirelessly engaged in productive meetings with Principal Secretaries and Commissioner Secretaries of Higher Education, persistently advocating for the betterment of the higher education in the region advocating for the enactment of the JKPUA.
Uni4Kashmir expressed profound optimism about the future, stating, “For the past two years, we have passionately strived to see our vision for an evolved educational environment become a reality. With the possibility of imminent enactment of the Jammu and Kashmir Private Universities Act, our mission takes a significant leap forward, and we are eager to contribute to the educational renaissance of Jammu and Kashmir.
