Srinagar, Jan 3 (KMW): United Jihad Council (UJC) Syed Sallah-u-Din has said the peace in sub continent is directly related to the resolution of Kashmir issue and the world community should use its good offices to resolve this vexed issue.
According to a statement issued to news agency, Saleem Hashmi, spokesman of the Hizbul Mujahideen has quoted the UJC chief saying: “Though a resolution on Kashmir was passed by the United Nations on January 5, 1948 but the same is yet to be implemented on the ground. At least 18 such resolutions have been passed from time to time on Kashmir issue but unfortunately the world bodies have always shown a cold shoulder approach and double standards to get those resolutions favoring right to self determination to Kashmiris implemented on ground.â€
Hashmi has said that Kashmiri people have rendered huge sacrifices to keep their struggle to freedom alive. “India tried every bit to suppress Kashmiris but the people of Kashmir have always shown steadfastness on their stand and they have never allowed their sentiments and political aspirations to die down despite barbaric methods used by the Indian forces,†the Hizb spokesman added.
Syed Sallh-u-Din has said that UN resolutions are a constitutional guarantee and a basis for the Kashmiri movement for right to self determination. “The UN resolutions are not irrelevant thus can’t be ignored. In light of these resolutions, Kashmir issue can be settled through a meaningful tripartite talks,†the Hizb spokesman has added.
