Distributes cheques worth Rs.50, 000 among fire sufferers
SRINAGAR: The Minister for Rural Development, Panchyati Raj and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar today visited Gojwara and expressed sympathy with effected families of fire incident.
Mr. Sagar said that the present Government under the leadership of Mr. Omar Abdullah is trying its best to come to the expectations of the people of the State. He said there are continuous efforts by the present Government to improve the economic condition of the poor and downtrodden people.
On the occasion, the Minister distributed cheques worth Rs. 50,000 among five families. He said the Government is taking every step to mitigate the problems of the common man.
The Minister also visited Gousia market Dastigeer Sahib and reviewed the steps taken for removing utilities and compensation in connection with road widening in the area. He also took stock of the construction of city gate.
Later, he also inspected Kohankhan ration depot near Dalgate and verified about availability of stocks of essential commodities.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sagar directed the DDC Srinagar to submit a report about some houses, which have developed cracks at Gojwara.
The Minister also disclosed that Rs. 45 lakh for construction of SNC Unit at JLNM Hospital Rainawari has been granted so that the Neonates will get better treatment.
Earlier, a large number of people including some deputations met the Minister at his official residence and apprised him about their various problems.
The Minister assured them that their genuine demands would be looked into sympathetically and also directed the officers to redress their grievances on priority basis.
The Minister was accompanied by the District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Baseer Ahmad Khan, Chief Engineer R&B, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Lone and other senior officers. (KMW News)Â
