Chief Secretary congratulated the Bank on its Golden Jubilee celebrations and said that RBI has encouraged establishment of financial institutions for the development of states economy and has effectively performed its role as an apex monitoring institution to guide, help and direct other commercial banks in the state.
Mr.Sandip Ghose in his remarks said that opening of the office of Reserve Bank of India in J&K in the year 1962 was a significant event in the economic development of this State as it paved the way for spread of banking network to far-flung and unbanked areas that helped in extending government sponsored schemes for the benefit of economically deprived sections of the society.
Regional Director of RBI Mr K.K.Saraf, in his welcome address, said that the Golden Jubilee was an occasion for the staff to renew its pledge to work with more vigour and zeal to serve the people of the State. He highlighted the milestones of the 50 year long journey of RBI in Jammu and Kashmir.
