Srinagar, 21 August: Rayat Bahra Professional University, Hoshiarpur, a self-financed educational institution, is set to provide job-oriented education aimed at enhancing the employment prospects of students in the region. This was stated today by Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of Rayat Bahra Professional University and Chairman of the Rayat Bahra Group, while addressing media persons here.
Bahra said the Rayat Bahra Professional University would deliver quality education and equip students with the skills needed to secure promising placements. “Our professional courses are designed to make students employment-ready, giving them a competitive edge in the job market,” he added.
Established in 2008, the Rayat Bahra Professional University campus spans 55 acres and is home to over 10,000 students. Known for fostering a dynamic learning environment, it offers modern amenities such as comfortable hostels, well-equipped laboratories, extensive libraries, and diverse sports facilities. The campus focuses on academic excellence, industry-aligned programmes, research, and holistic student development.
Rayat Bahra Professional University offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses across multiple disciplines, including Engineering, Pharmacy, Management, Education, Law, Nursing, and Medical Diploma and Certificate programmes.

Highlighting future plans, Bahra disclosed that several new-age courses would soon be launched in collaboration with leading multinational companies to further enhance students’ employment potential. “One of our distinctive features is the commitment to prepare students for employment even before they complete their academic programmes, ensuring they are well-positioned for placements,” he said. Acting Vice-Chancellor Dr Chander Mohan & other officials were also present on the occasion.
