Randomization of EVMs held at Srinagar, Baramulla

SRINAGAR, APRIL 15(KMW): In order to ensure transparent, fair and peaceful conduct of 02-Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency Lok Sabha Elections-2014, randomization of EVMs for district Srinagar comprising 8 segments was held under the chairmanship of District Election Officer, Srinagar, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah in presence of Election Observers, Mr. Harbhupinder Singh Nanda, Mr. A.K. Singh and Mr. Sanjay Srivastav.
Returning Officer and Assistant Returning Officers nominated for the purpose, representatives of various political parties and Independent candidates participated in the meeting.
The meeting was informed that 183 polling booths in Hazratbal, 99 in Zadibal, 83 in Eidgah, 86 in Khanyar, 61 in Habba Kadal, 106 in Amira Kadal, 91 in Sonawar and 155 in Batmaloo constituency have been set up, whose randomization was conducted today.
Pertinently, the election will be held on April 30, 2014 in 02-Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency.
Meanwhile, District Election Officer, Baramulla today also supervised the first phase of randomization of EVMs held at D.C office Baramulla. Assistant Returning Officers, Nodal Officers, Sectoral Officers and representatives of contesting candidates of political parties were also present on the occasion.
