Kargil, January 22, 2026: A meeting regarding the celebration of Republic Day 2026 was convened today under the chairmanship of the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kargil, Sheikh Gowhar Hussain in his office chamber.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kargil; Additional Superintendent of Police, Kargil; President, Bar Association Kargil; a representative from the Deputy Commissioner Kargil; Information Officer Kargil; Executive Engineers from R&B Division, PDD and PHE; and an official from the Municipal Committee Kargil.
Detailed deliberations were held on various arrangements for the celebration of 26th January 2026. All participating officers put forth their suggestions, which were duly discussed and taken into consideration.
It was decided that the Ceremony Guard and Band Party will be provided by the Police Department. The National Flag will be arranged by the Deputy Commissioner, Kargil. Coverage of the ceremony and wide publicity through print and electronic media will be undertaken by the Information Department, Kargil.
The Municipal Committee Kargil was instructed to ensure cleanliness arrangements at the venue, while the PHE Department Kargil to provide adequate water supply. Decoration of the Court Complex Kargil will be carried out by the PWD and PDD departments. Refreshments for the occasion will be arranged by the R&B Division Kargil.
The chair emphasized coordinated efforts among all concerned departments to ensure the smooth and dignified celebration of Republic Day in Kargil.
