Srinagar, September 24: The J&K Police raided the People’s Political Party (PPP) Headquarters, Rajbagh today and arrested the party Chairman Engineer Hilal Ahmed War. War’s arrest is seen as a preventive measure by the State police against a possible post- Eid Namaz protest against Jammu and Kashmir High Court verdict for banning the sale of beef and slaughter of cow in Jammu and Kashmir. Engineer War was taken to Police Station Kothibagh and was lodged there.
“The ban on sale of beef in Jammu and Kashmir is a gross interference in religious matters,” said Engineer Hilal. He said it is a shame that the separatist leadership is arrested on the eve of Eid and isn’t spared even on such auspicious occasions.
Er. War said Indian judiciary has no jurisdiction in such matters and cannot dictate to us what to eat and what not to eat. While condemning the ban on sale of beef, Er. Hilal termed the verdict a fascist and anti-Muslim judgement. This unjustifiable judgement has proved that Indian Judiciary has become political extension of Hindutva.
“If New Delhi believes that by imposing illogical and unjustified ban on beef sale she will divert the attention of the world community from the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir which has assumed the shape of a ‘ Nuclear Flash Point’, it is totally mistaken. This highly condemnable diktat will backfire big time and New Delhi will have to pay a heavy price for it,” said Er. War. Jammu and Kashmir People’s Political Party (PPP) Chairman said that Delhi is creating war like situation in Jammu and Kashmir and shrinking space for those who want a peaceful and democratic resolution of Kashmir tangle. “New Delhi is pursuing the RSS-MOSAD Agenda and is pushing Kashmiri youths towards violence by playing dirty games and the Indian media is a part and parcel of these porno-nationalist misadventures,” said War, “New Delhi must know the situation will get so ugly that it will never be able to control it.”
PPP condemns the police action in the strongest of the words and believes that measures like these will only deteriorate the situation further. “These arm-twisting tactics of the state will further worsen the situation and deepen the distrust,” said a party spokesman, “We can’t take it hands down. India is shrinking the space for peaceful dissenters as well. Actions like these are highly condemnable and will force even the pacifists to think of other options.”
