Peace Walk and Bum-sKhor Procession Draws Large Gathering in Choglamsar

A Peace Walk and Bum-sKhor procession was organised today from the Dharma Centre by the Ladakh Gonpa Association and Ladakh Buddhist Association in connection with the Sacred Exposition of the Holy Relics of Lord Buddha.

The procession witnessed the participation of nearly 1,000 Venerable monks and nuns representing monasteries from across the Ladakh region. A large number of local residents, devotees and visitors also joined the spiritual gathering, reflecting a collective message of peace, compassion and harmony.

The procession was ceremonially welcomed with traditional daman and surna performances, along with the Phog-sKalchor, a traditional welcome attire symbolising respect and auspiciousness. The Peace Walk proceeded towards Tashi Gatsal Monastery through the Maney Ringmo of Choglamsar before returning to the Dharma Centre.

Throughout the procession, participants chanted Buddhist prayers and hymns, creating a spiritually vibrant atmosphere and reinforcing the significance of the Sacred Exposition celebrations across Ladakh.
