New Delhi: Uproarious scenes broke out today as the NDA Members protested Home Minister P Chidambaram speaking in the Lok Sabha.

Raising slogans of “barkhast karo, barkhast karo”, “Chidambaram vapas jao, vapas jao” and “istifa do, istifa do”, BJP, JD-U, AIADMK and Shiv Sena members rose from their seats to boycott the Home Minister for his alleged complicity in the 2G spectrum allotment scam.

However, Speaker Meira Kumar remained firm and undeterred and continued with the proceedings, even as booing and jeering of the Minister continued every time he rose to reply during Question Hour.

At one point AIADMK members even rushed to the well to register their protest, but with the Speaker determined to wear out their protestations, the House returned to normalcy after about 20 minutes.

A question by Manish Tewari (Congress) on the setting up of the National Intelligence Grid (NATGRID) and National Counter-Terrorism Centre (NCTC), also replied by Mr Chidambaram, remained unheard all through.
