Srinagar:On completion of his term as Pakistan High Commissioner in New Delhi, Shahid Malik Tuesday said he will keep raising the issue of Kashmir wherever he finds an appropriate forum.

r Pakistan Malik called senior Hurriyat Conference leaders to bid a good bye to them. Senior Hurriyat leaders lauded Malik for his exemplary services while raising the plight of Kashmiris at appropriate fora. Malik, on completing a record 5 years as Pakistan High Commissioner to India, also thanked the Hurriyat leadership for their support during his tenure in New Delhi.
While speaking to Senior Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani, Malik said although he had completed his term as High Commissioner to India but he will always be by the side of Kashmiris in pursuit of their aspirations. “My emotions have always been for Kashmiris and would continue to remain with themâ€, Malik was quoted of having told Geelani. “I also congratulated and thanked Malik for successfully representing the wishes of Kashmiris apart from his countryâ€, Geelani told. “I also asked him to raise the Kashmir issue and the plight of oppressed Kashmiris people wherever he goesâ€, he added.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Malik also called Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq to bid good bye. “I appreciate the ambassador for his positive role in representing his country in India. I conveyed my good wishes to him and desired that he takes up the Kashmir issue wherever he find the appropriate opportunityâ€, Mirwaiz told.
“Malik sahib promised that he will take up the issue and raise the problems of Kashmiris wherever he goesâ€, added Mirwaiz.
Ambassador Malik also called Democratic Freedom Party Chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah in this context. “Although you have been relieved of your duties in India but you have a role to strive for the resolution of Kashmir issue through various meansâ€, Shah told Malik. Conveying his good wishes to Malik, Shah said he expects the outgoing ambassador to raise the plight of oppressed Kashmiris wherever he finds an opportunity.
