Srinagar: At a time when reports about New Delhi revoking Armed Forces Special Powers Act are doing rounds, the ruling National Conference Monday said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is working to get the AFPSA revoked in the state.
Addressing party workers at the Nawai-Subh complex here, NC District President, Ali Mohammad Dar said Abdullah has been working in this regard from day one and had taken precedence over his predecessors by terming the Jammu and Kashmir issue as political.
“In presence of Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Omar Abdullah has advocated for a political resolution of the Kashmir issue through dialogue with all shades of opinion including the separatist leadership,†Dar said in a statement to Press Bureau of India here.
