New Delhi, Oct 14 Olympic Medalist Wrestler Sushil Kumar, one of the accused in Sagar Dhankar murder case prayed for interim bail on medical grounds in Rohini Court, Delhi.
Counsel for Kumar moved an application under section 439 of Criminal Procedure Code(Cr.P.C.) for grant of interim bail on medical grounds.
Additional Session Judge Sushil Kumar after hearing the prayer on behalf of Kumar said, ” Issue notice to concerned Jail Superintendent to file the Medical Status Report of applicant/ accused on NDOH.
The court said, “Issue notice to concerned Investigation Officer to file the reply to the above said application with the direction to appear in person on the next date of hearing.
The court further said, ” Put up for filing of Medical Status Report by concerned Jail Superintendent, filing of reply to the above said application and arguments on the above said application on 18.10.2023.
Sushil Kumar, along with others, is accused of allegedly assaulting the former Junior National wrestling champion Dhankar and his friends in the parking lot of the Chhatrasal Stadium, Delhi on May 4, 2021 over an alleged property dispute.
Dhankar later succumbed to his injuries during treatment in the hospital and as per the post-mortem report, he died due to cerebral damage.
