Srinagar, Mar 07 (KMW): A complete shutdown was observed in the length and breadth of Kashmir valley on Wednesday against the killing of civilians in Shopian and against the shifting of Kashmiri political prisoners from Srinagar to outside Valley. The call of shutdown was given by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) besides appealing people to march towards Shopian, South Kashmir. The authorities, however, put in place strict restrictions to foil the proposed march.

SAS Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq tried to defy the restrictions but a strong presence of police and paramilitary forces foiled their attempt.
