Kargil, November 04: Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Mohmad Haneefa Jan, today conducted an extensive tour of the Trespone and GM Pore constituency. He was accompanied by Executive Councillor/ Councillor Trespone constituency , Syed Mujtaba, GM Pore constituency Councillor, Syed Ali, Sub Divisional officers and departmental officials.
During his visit, the MP interacted with residents at several villages, including Chaychay Thang, Sarchay, Kanoor, Trespone, Kukshow, Tambis, Saliskote, Gongma Horlam, and GM Pore, to assess developmental needs and review the implementation of government schemes.
At Chaychay Thang, villagers raised demands for the restoration of the irrigation khul, solar power supply to the mosque, completion of the lift irrigation project, construction of a motorable bridge, completion of the reading room, establishment of winter-friendly classrooms, development of horticulture and footpaths, among other issues. The MP urged villagers to focus on increasing school enrolment and assured that their demands would be addressed on a priority basis.
At Sarchay, the villagers raised the issue for bridge, school building construction, grazing shelter, irrigation khul, medical sub centre, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) works, and formation of self help groups. The MP directed the Block Programme Manager (BPM) of the Rural Development Department to prepare a project for women self employment and assured that efforts would be made to mobilize CSR funding for the initiative.
During his visit to Kanoor, locals highlighted concerns regarding road connectivity, CHC facilities, irrigation canal, establishment of a public library, ATM services, solar batteries, ice hockey rink, JJM implementation, school upgradation, and BRO related issues. The MP assured that he would convene a meeting with the DG, BRO, and district officers soon after the tour to address these matters.
In Trespone, the public demanded upgradation of the GM Pore-Trespone Khul, PHC to CHC status, and schools on the EMRS model. The MP directed officials to ensure doorstep delivery of centrally sponsored schemes and assured to explore feasibility school upgradation as per norms.
At Kukshow and Tambis, issues related to the bridge, shortage of teachers, establishment of libraries, installation of solar lights, fencing and panelling of classrooms, and local sanitation facilities were raised. The Ladakh University Students’ Union also submitted a memorandum of issues during the MP’s visit to Government High School Tambis.
MP Haneefa Jan also attended the inauguration of the upgradation of Government High School Saliskote to Government Higher Secondary School Saliskote, where he emphasized community involvement and participation in educational development.
Concluding the tour at Gongma Horlam and GM Pore, villagers demanded a full-fledged Tehsil office, road upgradation, sanctioned medical posts, and a school bus facility. The MP assured that a school bus will be provided during his tenure.
Expressing gratitude for the warm hospitality, MP Mohmad Haneefa Jan thanked the people of GM Pore constituency for their support and constructive engagement during the tour.
