Udhampur, Aug 5: At least two jawans were killed and eight others were injured when militants opened fire at a Border Security Force (BSF) convoy in Samrauli in Jammu & Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Wednesday morning.
One militant was been killed in the encounter. Earlier, four jawans had suffered injuries in the attack, however, one of them later succumbed to his injuries.
The incident took place on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. The convoy, reportedly a patrol team, was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu.
The gunbattle between the militants and BSF, police and CRPF jawans is underway at the site.
