Leh, Sept 20: The Ladakh Power Development Department (LPDD), the State Designated Agency (SDA) under the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) scheme, today organized a Workshop and Capacity Building Programme for Energy Professionals at Hotel The Zen, Leh.
The workshop was inaugurated by Chief Engineer, LPDD, Er. Tsewang Paljor, who shared valuable insights on the significance of energy efficiency in Ladakh’s unique climatic and geographical context.
Dr. Chandra Shekhar Azad, Master Trainer from Green Tree Global, delivered a series of detailed presentations on energy conservation and sustainable practices.
In the morning session, Dr. Azad highlighted Energy conservation and efficiency measures, Solar energy techniques and their application in Ladakh, Availability of solar resources in Leh and decentralized energy generation, Leh City Climate Action Plan and Ladakh’s unique solar potential, Solar passive heating and radiant heating technologies, Grid-connected solar PV and EV charging systems for rural areas.
In the post-lunch session, discussions focused on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): An overview and their relevance for Ladakh and Standards & Labelling Programme: Star Label descriptions, listed appliances, enforcement mechanisms, and the credibility of the program.
The workshop concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, encouraging interaction and knowledge sharing among participants.
The Certificate of Participation were also distributed among the participants.
