Kulgam gunfight: 2 Militants killed, 3 Soldiers injured

Kulgam, 04 July: In continuous spate of gunfights, a fierce gunbattle took place today in Kulgam district of South Kashmir.

Two militants have been killed in this gunfight that broke out on Saturday afternoon in Arreh Mohanpora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

An official stated that one more militant was killed in the gunfight. “With this killing, the death toll of the militants in the encounter has reached two.”

He said that three soldiers including JCO received minor injuries, who have been evacuated to 92 Base hospital for treatment.

Earlier, a joint team of Police, Army’s 34 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation based on a specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

Meanwhile, in view of encounter authorities also suspended mobile internet services in Kulgam district as a precautionary measure.

As per latest reports, the search operation is still on in the area.
