Kashmiri youth killed in Russia laid to rest in Srinagar

Srinagar, March 12 : A Kashmiri youth who was beaten to death by thugs in Russia was laid to rest in Hasanabad Rainawari locality of Srinagar city on Saturday. Large number of people participated in his funeral procession.
Yasir was in coma and under treatment at the Kazan Trauma Centre in Russia for several days. The goons had attacked him with a purpose to rob him from his belongings including money.
His body was brought here on Saturday morning that was laid to rest amid sobs and tears.
Meanwhile, National Conference expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of a young Kashmiri businessman, Yasir Shirazi who lost his life after a murderous assault by unknown men in Kazan, Russia.
Conveying the condolences of the party leadership, NC Chief Spokesperson Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi and NC Leader and Political Secretary to Working President, Tanvir Sadiq visited Yasir’s residence in Hassanabad and prayed for peace to the departed soul, a party statement said Saturday evening.
Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi and Tanvir Sadiq also thanked the Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj for her help in bringing back Yasir’s mortal remains to Srinagar and said they hope the Ministry of External Affairs exerts diplomatic pressure to ensure that Yasir’s murderers are identified, tracked and brought to the book as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar has also expressed profound grief and sorrow over Yasir’s demise and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
